There are times when I feel out of place..
I got the idea to start a community for those of us who feel sometimes like we don't belong.. anywhere.

A Place To Belong

It's brand new and need members.. [hint hint]

I'm sorry I let this group die.

Is there anyone still out there?

I'm writing to let you all in on a very exciting event which is in the making, right now. San Francisco State University Eco-Students are planning to make a trip on bikes to visit different campuses in California who are making sustainable changes to their campuses and in their communities and DOCUMENTING IT! We will be filming this ride and the interactions at the campuses, hopefully to be showed in late January, if all goes well.

Now, it's time for me to ask you lovely folks if you'd like to help, even in the slightest bit since we are really just starting out...

Our goal is to make contact and form some sort of relationship with students or people knowledgeable of sustainable actions at colleges in California. It can be anything, anyone, on or around campus which can be considered GREEN. In opening up your knowledge, campus, hearts, you will helping a great cause for earthly sustainability, or at least the possibility of expanding the momentum toward it.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, e-mail me and tell me about your campus' greening efforts. Only good things can come from your effort if we all work and share together.

how many of you are watching live earth?
how many of you are going to change something to help this planet survive?
how many of you don't believe in global warming at all?

* can be deleted if need be, I just figured it'd be a good community to reach a lot of people

This community was wickedly active when it first started and I hate to see it so quiet, so in light of recent events, discuss:

Saddam's execution
-Right, wrong?
-Global consequences?
-Video broadcasts?
-How has the media portrayed it where you live?
-Where do you live?
-Anything else you want to add?

And on a completely unrelated theme, I've been looking for the map meme that shows what states and countries one has visited. I have the one where the countries show up in red and I currently have that one, but I stumbled on one ages ago where the countries visited show up in green. It also shows the boundaries between countries as well as individual states in the US. If anyone can point me to it, that would be great!

Our Stories, Our Voices, Our Lives

Project Generation is a collaborative effort to explore what life is like for adolescents and young adults at the dawn of a new century—a time-capsule of stories, poems, artwork and essays, chronicling the experience of coming of age at the threshold of a new era of human history.

What We’re Doing

We’re collecting stories, essays, art, poetry—anything that can be printed in a book—that document the adolescent and young adult experience as it is from the late 1990s, when the internet first became commonplace, to today.

19th-Sep-2006 11:01 am - No to war crimes
There is a new Internet site for taking action to bring justice into our foreign policy. They have an easy way to write your senators to tell them not to weaken the War Crimes Act. Such a move could legalize the kinds of abuses we saw at Abu Ghraib, like sexual humiliation and extreme stress positions. The reason this could happen very soon is that the Administration is pressuring Congress to do it.

I'm conducting a study on student/youth participants in the CIW-led National Taco Bell Boycott. This study serves as my undergraduate sociology thesis and should take less than 10 minutes.
If you were involved in the boycott at any level, please fill out my online survey, which can be found here:
Also, please pass this link along to any other boycott participants that you may know of. With such a large movement, I will be dependant on word of mouth to get a proper representation for this survey.
Thank you,
Michael C. Ide
